Who is eligable to join the Network?

Membership of the Stem Cell Network NRW is open to any North Rhine-Westphalian research institution which is involved in stem cell research and its bioethical and legal impacts.

Why become a member?

Every year research projects with an interdisciplinary and cross-locational character are selected as candidates for start-up financing by the Stem Cell Network and recommended to the NRW local regional government for funding.  Besides established working groups young scientists can receive initial financing in order to carry out their work, making it possible for them to apply successfully for funding from national and international funding organisations.  Three young scientists are also considered for an endowment of up to 1.25m € for a period of 5 years.

In addition to direct funding for research, members particularly value the chance to share and discuss ideas – such as at the bi-annual international conference or at internally organised meetings.  Events and professional opinions on bio-ethical and legislative regulation matters round out the biomedical expertise within the network.  The newsletter, workshops and informative events complete the programme of the Stem Cell Network, NRW.
